Analyses of androstrenone and boar taint related components
Publicatiedatum: 05-11-2009
CCL Nutricontrol uses sensory test and chromatography methods of analysis to determine boar taint related components like androstenone, skatol and indol.
CCL Nutricontrol routinely analyses boar taint related components like androstenone quantitatively in pig fat samples using gas chromatography in combination with mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Recently, CCL Nutricontrol participated in an inter laboratory comparison study of methods to measure androstenone in pig fat. Results are currently being published.
